Sally unknowingly goes into a gay bar looking for change for the parking meter and meets Glenn, a handsome GQ type who thinks she's a drag queen, and they're immediately attracted. They enter a dance contest together, and, when Sally describes Glenn's sterling qualities to Mrs. Dubcek, the landlady says Sally should marry him. When Tommy takes the National Merit Test and gets the highest grade in Ohio's history, his teacher advises that he transfer to a school for gifted children; Tommy just wants to be a normal teenager and Nina and Dr. Albright warn that the school is snotty and elitist, but it's great for Dick's ego to be the "father" of a genius, so he insists that Tommy enroll. When Tommy fails to win the school's Knowledge Bowl competition, Dick behaves so badly that he's banned from the school though Tommy is allowed to stay, but Dick immediately withdraws Tommy which is precisely how Tommy had it planned. And Glenn and Sally find out the truth about each other; Sally tells Tommy, "Remember when we said two sexes must be so limiting? I think Glenn found a loophole."
