Attempting to climb the social ladder, Mary volunteers her house for a charity auction sponsored by the North Rutherford Country Club, while Mrs. Dubcek gives Dick a brief lesson on class structure in Rutherford. Harry and Sally are hooked on TV wrestling. Some "bad boys" in Tommy's class go after him because they think he makes fun of them in math class, and Lorna, a trampy eighteen-year-old sophomore, starts hitting on him. Mary's party falls flat, but everyone loves Dick; the St. Clairs call the next morning and invite Mary and Dick to their club, and Mary tells Dick to bring the other aliens along. Tommy takes his tormenters home with him where they meet Harry and Sally who are having their own wrestling match; Tommy has convinced the guys that they can use his intelligence to their advantage. At the club with the St. Clairs, Mary is snubbed again, and some of the guests think Dick is the entertainment, but Harry is the hit of the evening and gets a guest membership at the country club.
