When
Dick obnoxiously tries to make Nina cancel her blind date and work
overtime, she quits her job as his secretar y but tells Dr. Albright
she’ll continue to work for her. Dick enlists Harry as his new assistant
and it’s a disaster, so Harry quits just before Dick fires him.
Dick decides it’s impossible to get good help, so he’ll be his own
assistant. When Sally learns about little girls’ tea parties and
hears Nina and Mary reminisce about their childhood experiences,
Sally decides she must live the little girl’s life she never had
and demands to take ballet classes. When Dick promises to respect
her, Nina grudgingly agrees to work for him again. And when Dick
misses Sally’s ballet recital, she’s devastated, but Tommy assures
her that emotional damage is an essential part of childhood, so
now she’s on her way to really experiencing life as a child.
