Episode #225/226 "A Nightmare on Dick Street (The 3-D Episode)"

SYNOPSIS:

Mary is going to Borneo for a year, and Nina tells Dick the only conceivable way to keep Mary from leaving is a marriage proposal; this makes sense to Dick, but the others think it's a terrible idea because she's sure to discover they're aliens. Harry is annoyed that he continuously receives transmissions from the Big Giant Head that are commercials. Dick and Mary have a discussion about honesty in relationships, and later than night Dick has a terrible jello nightmare in which he's tortured by Mary who's dressed as a dominatrix. Dick is shaken up and thinks he's going crazy; Officer Don tells Sally people have been known to go to bed sane and wake up psychopaths; Tommy suggests psychiatry. Dick tells Dr. Goldman, the psychiatrist, that he's an alien from another planet and scared to get married; Dr. Goldman prescribes "Placion" which spaces Dick out but makes him blissfully happy. A frustrated Dr. Albright says she'll send him a postcard from Borneo. When Sally apprehends a criminal at the supermarket, Officer Don is resentful; Sally should have backed off and let him do it. When Sally tries to talk to Dick about this, she realizes he's useless, and she urges Harry to contact the Big Giant Head. Sally then goes to bed and has a "Fellini-esque" dream in which she shoots Officer Don; she wakes up extremely frightened. She tells Officer Don she needs to "get on the pill" and becomes blissed out on "Placion" with Dick. Harry receives a transmission from the Big Giant Head informing them the time/space portal will be open tomorrow night, and Tommy tells Harry they're leaving. Tommy learns that the Big Giant Head is expecting a report from him on the history of human civilization. The aliens encounter two Jehovah's Witnesses who come to their door. Tommy falls asleep and dreams he's on a tropical island and being serenaded by Miss Frost, the object of his infatuation. He wakes up convinced that he too has lost his mind, but he manages, with Harry's help, to confiscate the pills that have turned Dick and Sally into vegetables. When Dick and Sally have recovered, Tommy tells them they're leaving that night. Dick realizes that they may never return, so he's determined to say goodbye to Mary before they leave, but when he sees Mary he knows he can't leave her and asks her to marry him. Mary tells Dick that she dreamed he proposed to her, and it becomes clear to Dick that what he's been experiencing is normal and he's not crazy after all. Harry falls asleep, and, in the tradition of old MGM musicals, dreams about how good life has been to him. Mrs. Dubcek and Officer Don find Harry asleep and think he's dead. Dick is late, so Sally, Harry and Tommy go looking for him; they find him at the office at an engagement party, and he tells them cryptically that he won't be going back with them. Mary has no idea why they're all so upset; Dick's just getting married. When Dick dejectedly returns to the apartment, he finds the three have returned but in new, very bizarre bodies. They look at each other and scream.
