Dick gets called for jury duty, and finds the experience baffling from the very beginning. He doesn't want to be on the jury for any case that he finds boring or insignificant but at the same time is highly insulted when he's excused several times in the jury selection process. Dr. Albright hires Harry and Tommy to take part in an experiment in which they use absolutely no words for five straight days; she can't fathom that two people could be so hopelessly inept at carrying out her instructions. Officer Don doesn't take kindly to Sally's going out with another man, Sean, who's an artist, and immediately innundates Sean with parking tickets. When he's finally selected for a jury, Dick drives his fellow jurors crazy by refusing to join them in convicting the defendant, who's obviously guilty; Dick claims he'd feel terrible if her were in any way responsible for sending someone to prison. He sneaks away from where the jury is sequestered and goes home to discuss the case with the other aliens, thus causing a mistrial.
