Vicki
has a vision of Harry as the dancing baby from Ally McBeal and later
tells him she wants him to be the father of her child. When Harry
shares this news with Dick, Dick reminds him that his "child" may
turn out to be a large purple tube. Sally announces that she’s looking
for an apartment, and Dick begins trashing her to every rental agent
in town. When Tommy refers to Alissa as his girlfriend, Harry says
he’s crazy, but Tommy insists it’s true. When Tommy goes to the
Wheelers’ house with Alissa to baby-sit their son William, Tommy
feels insecure when she doesn’t introduce him as her boyfriend.
Vicki is obsessed with the subject of babies and takes Harry to
the Wheelers' to see how he relates to William. Harry is not so
sure about this fatherhood business, but he and William have a great
time and he tells Vicki that they should go for it. Dick is convinced
that the unit is falling apart, and he demands that everyone get
back on track, but doesn’t help when Mary sides with Sally about
moving out, saying she’d rather live in a cardboard box behind the
7-Eleven than live with the Solomons. Sally rents the dumpy apartment
over Mrs. Dubcek’s garage, and Don tells Dick that Sally is very
vulnerable now that she’s a woman living alone, but Sally and Dick
talk it over and Dick reluctantly agrees to let her move forty feet
away. Tommy is elated when Alissa finally uses the word "boyfriend."
