After Don tells her about a bank robbery he foiled, Sally decides that she'd like to
rob a bank, just for the challenge. Frank Cooper, a former student of Mary's and now
an academic himself, shows up at Rutherford. Cooper, a very handsome man, greets
Mary affectionately, and Dick's instantly eaten up with jealousy. Sally enlists Harry
and Tommy, and they begin to make elaborate plans to rob a bank. Before long
Harry and Tommy start suspecting that since Sally dates a cop, she might reveal their
plan to him; they convince themselves that Sally's a stoolie. Very discreetly, Frank
reveals to Dick that he's gay; Dick, completely misunderstanding, thinks Frank's
outing himself as an alien. With great relief, Dick admits that he's one too. Delighted,
Frank takes Dick to a local gay bar which Dick now thinks is an alien bar. He loves
the dancing and is having a great time when she encounters Mrs. Dubcek who tells
him that these guys love her. He outs himself to her, and she's not really surprised.
Harry and Tommy confront Sally about being a stoolie, and she's furious; she soon
convinces Tommy that Harry's the weak link in the group, but Harry fires back that
Tommy's the one who's a wuss; he even had nightmares after they visited a petting
zoo. Dick comes home and tells everyone about his trip to the "alien" bar; he's found
out that there are aliens all around and that half of Broadway is openly alien.
Sally and the others hope they'll be able to go to the bar too. The would-be bank
robbers have been fighting so much among themselves that nobody trusts anyone.
They show up at the bank separately to rob it on their own, but when Harry finds
that the pen that he planned to use to distract the teller is chained down and a security
guard approaches, they all panic and take off. And when Mary shows up at the
bar and demands to know what Dick's doing there, Dick learns that Frank is gay.
Then it's Dick's job to persuade Mary that he isn't.
