Mary's fuming, because her sister Renata has endowed a new wing for Pendleton's museum. Mary tells Dick that Renata's always been the "pretty sister," the "smart sister," the "successful sister" and she takes every opportunity to cram it down Mary's throat. Renata arrives, and Mary wastes no time in telling her that her donation to Pendleton was "an act of hostility designed to humiliate" her. Renata can't deny it. Renata tells Dick flirtatiously that at least Mary has a boyfriend, one thing she doesn't have. When Sally and Harry find out that Renata's a philanthropist, they decide to come up with a worthy cause and get some money from her. They propose a teen center, and, when Renata finds out they're related to Dick, she promptly hands over ten thousand dollars. Dick reports to Mary that Renata's got her eye on him. Mary goes nuts and says that this time Renata isn't getting her way. But Dick proposes that they stage a row in front of her. Dick will then sweep Renata off her feet and then, when the time is right, break her heart. Mary thinks it's a brilliant plan. Sally and Harry create a teen center in the aliens' apartment and gradually turn a group of clean cut, well-behaved teens into a bunch of unruly gang members. Renata falls for Dick and Mary's mock break-up, and she wastes no time trying to win Dick over. She starts by flying him to Greece for lunch.
Mary's not thrilled when she learns that Dick and Renata have just spent three days in Santorini and Mykonos, but Dick assures her that they're very close to ensnaring Renata.
Renata can't resist gloating to Mary that Dick is now in love with her. Mary pretends to be devastated. Dick's resistance is wearing down. He's thoroughly enjoying sharing Renata's luxury-filled life, and her gift of Saville Row shirts is more than he can resist. She proposes, and Dick, swept away, accepts. Mary can't believe that Dick has accepted Renata's proposal of marriage. He assures her that he now has the opportunity to jilt and humiliate Renata at the altar. But when Dick, dazzled by Renata, goes through with the ceremony, Mary steps in and reveals the plan to humiliate her. Dick tries to salvage the situation, but both Mary and Renata are ready to wash their hands of him. And Dick proudly reports to Mary that he wouldn't agree to dissolve the marriage until Renata's lawyers pledged that there would be no new wing for the museum. Mary's delighted. Dick has helped her defeat Renata at last!
