Episode #616 "You Don't Know Dick"

SYNOPSIS:

When Nina quizzes Dick about Mary's likes and dislikes, it becomes clear that Nina knows virtually everything about her, while Dick knows nothing. Sally's doing a great job as weather girl at the station. They're now number two in weather. Marty, Sally's boss, hires Harry as the station's gofer, but Harry's not sure why they'd need a small, furry rodent. Sally confides to Chaz that she'd really love to move into doing the news. Chaz agrees to show her the ropes. Dick tells the aliens that he knows nothing about Mary, and Harry reveals several facts to prove that, like Nina, he knows more about Mary than Dick does. Sally tells Dick it's important to let Mary know that she comes first. Judith announces to Mary that they have tenth row seats for an upcoming Gordon Lightfoot concert, and Mary's ecstatic. Dick claims that he too has tickets for himself and Mary that are right in front. Harry tells Marty that he's having a special (gopher) suit made, but Marty that it doesn't matter what Harry wears. It's becoming clear That Chaz' interest in Sally is more romantic than professional. When he invites her to dinner and to see the Lightfoot concert from the station's luxury box at the Rutherford Dome, she eagerly accepts thinking that it will be good field experience. Dick's now on a mission to bag two Lightfoot tickets, but the Rutherford Dome is sold out. In a panic, Dick instead buys two tickets to the Ice Capades. A puzzled Marty discovers that the paper cups in the station's kitchen look as if they've been chewed by rodents. Harry beams with pride. Still insisting that it's part of the assignment, Chaz tells Sally that he's taking her home to meet his mother. Dick's trying to win a pair of concert tickets from a radio call-in. His whole future with Mary is on the line. Sally tries to tell Dick that the station has a box, but he pays no attention. It's Harry who winds the call-in, and he goes off to claim his two tickets. He gets them, but a scalper talks him into selling them at face value. Dick and Mary arrive, and Dick attacks Harry when it's revealed that the tickets are gone. At the station's box, Chaz brings out champagne and candles and tries to kiss Sally. She pushes him out of the box and locks the door. And Dick manages to salvage the evening when he suggests that they live dangerously and sneak into the concert.
