Episode #619 "The Thing That Wouldn't Die, Part I"

Dick informs the other aliens that Mary saw him turn Neesam into a chimp. After a brief discussion, it's agreed that denial is the best method of damage control. When Dick arrives at Mary's, she's talking to Nina on the phone and is clearly terrified. Dick takes the phone and then has Mary tell Nina that everything's fine. When he leaves, Mary collapses on the couch. Sally and Harry go into a grocery store that has just been robbed. Sally's surprised to find Don hiding in the freezer. Harry encounters Sam, a cute checker at the grocery, and makes a date with her. After some initial attempts to explain, he confesses that he's a coward and not cut out to be a cop. Mary, Nina and Judith are having a drink at a bar. Mary, still very upset, tells her friends that she thinks something's wrong with Dick. Nina confides that she has always thought that Dick's story didn't add up; she thinks he's an international terrorist. Judith thinks he has all the characteristics of a serial killer. If Mary's not careful, she could be his next victim. Mary says that she has to uncover the truth. Harry's passing by a restaurant when he spots Sam from the grocery store inside. She's dressed elegantly and has a different hair style. At the restaurant, she's Samantha. Harry believes she's Sam's twin and thinks she's being a bit forward when she starts talking about their date. When Mary starts questioning Dick about his past, he confesses that he's an alien and then faints. Mary revives him and accuses him of lying, but then she starts thinking back on six years of Dick's bizarre behavior, and it dawns on her that he's telling the truth. Sally goes to Don's house and tries to convince him that he's truly the powerful man that she fell in love with. Sam arrives for her date with Harry, and it's a comedy of errors since Harry is also expecting Samantha any minute. Mary is still trying to process the fact that her boyfriend's an alien. She bombards him with questions about life in another dimension and comes to the conclusion that being with a spaceman is pretty sexy. She tells Nina and Judith that there's nothing wrong with Dick; in fact, he's extraordinary. They feel sorry for their deluded friend. Sally informs Dick that she's going to have to kill Mary, but Dick assures her that it's not necessary. Their secret's safe with Mary. Sally's not convinced, but she drops the subject when Don arrives to announce that he's quitting the police force and opening a muffin shop. And Harry receives a message from the Big Giant Head saying that their mission is over.
