Episode #103 "The Broken Reflection"

  Hilton is filled with dread when he learns that his brother George will be staying with them while he's in town to accept the alumnus of the year award from his university. George has spent a lifetime feeling superior to him, Hilton tells Ruth and Pauline, and also he's nearly deaf but refuses to wear his hearing aid which drives Hilton crazy. Ruth and Pauline find George at the bus station after he has set his hat on fire with his pipe, and that's just the beginning. George's deafness makes conversation impossible, his strange accidents nearly demolish the Lucas house, and he alienates Hilton immediately with prying questions about how it feels to be out of work and "thrown on the trash heap of life." Hilton refuses to go to the award ceremony, but Ruth finds George's acceptance speech which reveals George's gratitude to Hilton for all his sacrifices and that George too has lost his job.
