When
Hilton calls in to a talk show to voice some concerns to a presidential
aide, he's chosen, as a public relations stunt, to have the president
come to his house for dinner. He's asked to keep the visit a secret,
but within five minutes the entire neighborhood has the news. Hilton
is elated at the prospect of a presidential visit, but Ruth's only
concern is that they'll be missing out on a weekend at a timeshare
in the Poconos. The big day arrives as Ruth frantically cleans and
cooks assisted by a good-hearted but inept Pauline, while Hilton
rehearses the probing, insightful questions he'll ask the president.
Even the mayor of New York shows up and tries to get in on the act.
The secret service men arrive, but everyone soon learns that the
President's car has broken an axle in a pothole. The President can't
make dinner but invites the Lucases to Camp David. The mayor stays
for dinner and sticks around to do a little repair work in the neighborhood
at Griffin's insistence.
