Hilton and Ruth take a winter vacation to Florida and are so enchanted with the weather, the fresh oranges, the vegetation, and the peace and quiet, that they decide to put their house on the market and move as soon as possible. Griffin, Erica and Pauline are taken aback by the rash decision, but agree that the Lucases should do what will make them happy. The realtor begins showing the house, but the next-door neighbors put their home on the market as well for a much lower price. As potential buyers look over the house and Griffin actually makes an offer himself, Ruth begins to realize that the place holds too many memories. She confides in Pauline that it means too much to her to leave it, but she makes her promise not to tell Hilton because he's so committed to making the move. When the Lucases learn that the Youngs, a couple who are ready to buy the house, plan to gut the inside and completely remodel it, even Hilton knows that they have to stay. Meanwhile, surprisingly enough, the house next door has sold and Griffin is to be their new neighbor.
