Now that Griffin and Erica have moved into the Lucas house, their constant parade of friends is driving Hilton crazy. In the process of kicking them all out, he accidentally ejects Hector the exterminator, the guy Ruth hired to get rid of a mouse in the kitchen. Hilton tells Griffin and Erica that since they're living in his house, they have to abide by his rules: no unaccompanied friends in the house, no feeding them with his food, no lending his stuff to them, and no men upstairs, especially not Erica's boyfriend Julius. Erica protests to Ruth that she's a twenty-seven-year-old woman and shouldn't be treated like a child where men are concerned. At the cafe, Pauline is practicing making espresso, where nothing she makes is drinkable until she realizes she hasn't been using a filter. Hilton drops by to test it, and while he's away, Erica sneaks Julius into her room. When the over-caffeinated Hilton returns, he stays up all night watching TV, so Erica can't sneak Julius back out. The next morning, with Julius still upstairs, Erica worries he'll be discovered. Julius gets even more worried when he overhears Hilton talking to the exterminator and thinks he's hiring a hit man to kill him. When Hilton decides to go after the mouse himself, the terrified Julius thinks he's about to be murdered. Julius surrenders, and Hilton and Erica have a father-daughter talk about trust.
