With
Griffin now recording in his room at night, Hilton is getting no
sleep and yelling non-stop about it. Still, he volunteers to read
children’s books for another recording project Griffin is doing.
But Griffin makes him interview for the position and then hires
him reluctantly. At the Flower Café, Ruth, Pauline and Erica are
struggling with a gorgeous but very clumsy young employee named
Mark, who is filling in for his cousin. Later, Hilton invites the
neighborhood kids over to hear him read, but when he changes the
stories to make them more interesting, Griffin goes ballistic. This
angers Hilton, but Griffin reminds him that Hilton yells at him
on a daily basis. Griffin then fires Hilton, and Hilton responds
by evicting Griffin. At the café, Mark tells Pauline that he’s seen
her watching him and suddenly grabs her and kisses her. Pauline
is ecstatic, but Ruth says gorgeous or not, Mark is too clumsy and
he has to go. When Ruth learns that Griffin has been evicted, she
tells Hilton that the real problem is that Griffin is too old to
be yelled at constantly and that Hilton is a ‘two-pack-a-day’ yeller.
Hilton responds by saying that he comes from a long line of yellers,
but reluctantly agrees to let Griffin stay. Amazingly, Griffin’s
recording client loves the tracks where Hilton is yelling in the
background and wants to hear more of him. So now Griffin’s problem
becomes how to get Hilton to start yelling again.
