Griffin’s
walking around with a huge grin on his face, and, when questioned,
confesses he’s in love. Everyone’s skeptical, because Griffin’s
known to be fickle when it comes to women, but he says this time
it’s for real. The woman is Stephanie, Jurnee’s older sister and
Erica’s friend. Griffin is taking Stephanie out, and he asks Jurnee
to wait up for her and find out what she thinks of him. When Jurnee
tells Griffin that Stephanie said there’s nothing she’d rather do
that be with him, he’s over the moon. Ruth tells Hilton that Griffin’s
behavior has convinced her that he’s in love, but Hilton’s not so
sure. He advised Griffin to go slow and be aware of Stephanie’s
feelings; Griffin assures him he’d never hurt her. Pauline give
Hilton and Griffin a relationship quiz she found in a magazine.
When Hilton hears Griffin turn down an opportunity to spend an evening
with his buddy and two beautiful women, it becomes clear to him
that Griffin is really in love. But when Erica talks to Stephanie
about Griffin, she tells Erica that Griffin’s not he kind of guy
she’d want to have a relationship with; what she actually told Jurnee
was that she’d rather be with Griffin than do nothing at all. When
she hears Griffin’s in love with her, Stephanie says she’d better
set him straight. When Hilton, who knows Stephanie’s true feelings,
hears Griffin say he’s about to declare his love and give Stephanie
a gold locket that belonged to his grandmother, Hilton says they
should have dinner at the Lucases, because he’s afraid Griffin’s
about to get some really bad news. At dinner everyone, including
Jurnee, sings Griffin’s praises to Stephanie, but she wants to be
alone with him. She says that if he needs that many testimonials
he must have something to hide, but when he professes his love she
relents, saying that it’s the sweetest, most incoherent thing she’s
ever heard.
