Episode #411 "Superstar, Part 2"

SYNOPSIS:

As Griffin continues his daydream of being a superstar teacher, he visits the movie set where a film of his life, "Vesey: The Movie," is in production. Back on "Education Tonight," the show interviews Erica, the teacher and friend who grew up with the legendary Griffin Vesey. She says she hopes Griffin hasn't lost perspective. Griffin talks with the actor who's portraying him in the film because he's concerned that he's being portrayed as an arrogant jerk while the fact is that he's "all about love." Griffin then goes to his own book signing, surrounded by fans and groupies, when Keisha comes up to him and accuses him of being a spineless sellout for considering leaving her school. Griffin says it would just be a business decision, but later he tells his agent that he needs to really think about it. Later that night he walks the street, pondering the decision he must make, Westchester or Queens, big money or the kids who love him? He talks to a newsstand clerk, who says Griffin's book touched his heart, especially the quote from Kipling's poem about being a man. The conversation transforms Griffin, and he returns home and tells his agent to tell Westchester "no deal." Back in the real world of the Lucas kitchen, Griffin is standing at the refrigerator staring off into space. Hilton asks him what he's doing. Griffin replies that he was having happy thoughts. Hilton and Ruth offer Griffin a loan, but he says he'll get by somehow until payday with the ninety cents he has in his checkbook.
