Episode #103 "As The World Turns… To Crap"

  Cybill is dismayed to learn that the soap opera character she is portraying has been written into a coma along with another veteran vixen, Andrea, and that only one of them will recover. The decision is dependent upon the whim of the shows sleaze-bag producer, Barry. The two women scramble to ingratiate themselves with him. Cybill invites Barry for dinner at her house on a Friday, forgetting she has also committed to entertaining Rachel’s visiting ultra-conservative East Coast in-laws the same night. Ed and Betty are shocked and dismayed by the behavior of an inebriated Maryann and a perverse Barry. Cybill finally stands her ground and tells Barry that she’s not going to sleep with him in order to keep her job. The party is brought to an abrupt end by an earthquake. Later we learn that Genie Francis has been cast to replace Cybill on the soap.
