Cybill
is pre-menopausal and experiencing hot and cold flashes. Not wanting
to take hormones to relieve her symptoms, she decides to take the
herbal approach. She and Maryann go to an herbalist, a stunning
Chinese woman. She claims the herb works, but they also discover
she’s had plastic surgery. During one of her hot flashes, Cybill
discovers a horse has wandered onto her patio. She buys it to save
it from becoming 2,000 lbs. of dog food. Relating to the horse’s
plight and considering plastic surgery before she’s put out to pasture,
Cybill discusses her menopausal concerns with Nonee, Ira’s mother.
Nonee confides that menopause has given her the freedom to become
the woman she has always wanted to be, a khaki-wearing, pot-smoking
adventurer. Instead of plastic surgery, Cybill decides to get a
tattoo. Meanwhile, Ira’s mother gives Zoey a pink Cadillac and is
uncharacteristically uncritical of her son. Ira isn’t sure what
to make of this. After much discussion, Ira learns to accept his
mother and lets Zoey accept her gift.
