Cybill
plays the part of the Nurse, while simultaneously understudying
Mrs. Lincoln in the play "What Now, Mrs. Lincoln." Although Cybill
is excited at this opportunity she soon learns that Joan Hayden
never misses a performance. The next day, Cybill and Maryann pay
a surprise visit to Zoey’s apartment where Cybill picks up on the
fact that Zoey and Nina are having some roommate problems. Meanwhile,
much to Rachel’s chagrin, Kevin has decided to rearrange the kitchen
and take up golf instead of looking for a job. Later, Cybill is
shocked to see that Ira and Maryann have exchanged pleasantries
leaving her to believe that they have had an amicable break up.
That night as Joan Hayden is about to go on stage she trips over
a chair and grabs her ankle. As Cybill eagerly tells the stage hand
to get Joan out of the Mrs. Lincoln dress so she can go on in her
place Joan jumps to her feet having tricked Cybill for the second
time into thinking she would have the chance to go on in her place.
The next morning Cybill shows up again at Zoey’s apartment with
some banana nut muffins with her extra special ingredient, dried
apricots. But, Zoey is less than thrilled to see Cybill especially
when Cybill begins to tell Zoey a story about her old roommate problems.
At lunch Cybill tells Maryann about the problems she is having with
Rachel and Zoey. Maryann finally show Cybill her true colors about
her and Ira’s breakup. Later that afternoon at the theatre, Joan
takes a bite of Cybill’s banana-nut muffins and has an allergic
reaction to the dried apricot. As she falls to the floor clenching
her throat Cybill finally gets her chance to stand in. The performance
is going wonderfully until Zoey calls Cybill’s cell phone, which
rings on stage, to tell her that Nina has moved out and Ira and
Maryann’s carrying-on gets Cybill’s would be agent thrown out of
the theatre.
