Cybill
seeks solace from Maryann after a bad shoe campaign audition. Justin
shows up at Cybill’s to pick up a house key f rom his mother. He
is back in town to attend a friend’s booksigning. During Justin’s
brief encounter with Zoey, Cybill and Maryann note that they have
crushes on each other. Cybill lands the shoe ad! Cybill and Maryann
are trying on shoes, when Cybill remembers that they have to go
see her new billboard. As they head toward the door, Cybill spies
Justin and Zoey through the window, kissing. At the billboard, Cybill
is appalled to discover that the ad agency put her head on somebody
else’s skinnier body. Cybill confronts Mr. Murphy, the account executive.
Mr. Murphy doesn’t see the problem. After all, they only "shaved
off a few pounds." Cybill fruitlessly tries to explain that women
will buy these shoes to look like the woman in the billboard, but
that woman doesn’t exist. It’s a lie. Mr. Murphy blows Cybill off,
so she calls for reinforcements – a.k.a. Maryann. They decide to
deface Cybill’s billboard, Maryann finds Justin kissing another
girl, Kyra. Zoey confronts Ma ryann about talking to Justin. She
wants Maryann to butt out and let Justin make his own decisions,
not do what his Mommy tells him to. Ma ryann says she must teach
Justin to do the right thing because no one else will. Zoey counters
that he did do the right thing, without Maryann’s interference.
They both look to Cybill for help. She refuses to get involved.
The next day, Zoey is miffed at Justin and wants him to call Kyra
and tell her he’s not canceling their date. He refuses, and tells
Zoey that he broke up with Kyra because he likes Zoey better. Zoey
is elated. The ad agency calls to tell Cybill that someone defaced
her billboard. Cybill feigns surprise, but is accused of doing the
dirty deed herself. The ad agency has decided to drop her. But that’s
okay with Cybill; after all, she didn’t want to be part of that
oppressive campaign anyway.
