Cybill has been hired as a co-host on The Julie Show, a cable talk show.
The original star of the show, Julie, is upset about the change,
since she has been hosting the show alone for the past three years.
Julie does what she can to sabotage Cybill, including gluing her
to a director’s chair, and during a segment on scuba gear, replacing
her oxygen tank with laughing gas. Cybill puts up with Julie’s
transgressions but fears the worst when Julie hires a producer she
knows Cybill doesn’t get along with, Charlie Addison. Charlie
and Cybill have hated each other for years, ever since he produced
a film Cybill was starring in. Cybill thought she’d be playing a
woman who saves her family from an approaching tornado. The director
had other ideas, thinking the tornado could slowly peel the cloths
from Cybill’s body. Cybill balked, then agreed to do the nude
scene. As her clothes we re blown away her bottom was exposed. She
had written "How Am I Driving?" on it. Fearing he would lose his
own job, Charlie sided with the director and Cybill was fired. Se
veral years later, though, Cybill and Charlie find that time
has turned their hatred into animal attraction. Seeing her plan
to hurt Cybill with Charlie backfired, Julie re a l i zes she must
learn to deal with Cybill in a professional manner. On her cell
phone with Ma ryann, Cybill realizes she must get her best friend
to call off the goons she had sent after Julie. She was going to
have them slip something into Julie’s tea that would cause her
to lose control over her neck on the air. Cybill and Maryann
realize with horror that the goon slipped something into the
wrong drink. Cybill’s drink. Cybill loses control of her
neck on the air and her head falls into a banana cream pie. Meanwhile,
Zoey gets another gig as a piano-playing Barbie at a child’s birthday
party. She wonders how long it will be before she feels proud of
her career. Cybill tells her to hang in there. Zoey’s thrilled
when she gets to the birthday part y. The father of one of the children
is the Director of the L.A. Conservatory of Music. He asks her
to play at his child’s birthday party. Zoey feels hopeful that
this will lead to greater things.
