Norton, Russell's father, has started working with Russell at the
pharmacy and is driving Russell crazy. Grace desperately needs a
new babysitter for Patrick, and the only daycare center she can
afford won't accept him because he isn't toilet trained. When no
prospects work out, including Jimmy's mother Jean who wants to toilet
train Patrick by force, Grace pleads her case for company-sponsored
daycare, first to an unresponsive John Shirley and then, armed with
a petition, to Rick Bradshaw, who says that the company can't afford
it and, since he's dating Grace, it could be perceived as favoritism.
Russell is dismayed to learn that Janet, a woman he's been dating,
went out with his father first. Rick finally agrees to establish
a daycare center, but Grace is frustrated to learn that it won't
be operative for another six months and, unhappily, she has to force
Patrick into toilet training.
