Episode #308 "No Help Wanted"

Quentin is less than thrilled when Grace informs him that he'll soon have a new room of his own--in the basement, and since the landlord won't pay to make it happen, Grace is building it herself. Russell chides Floyd for staying out too late and threatens to take away his driving privileges. An irritated Floyd is convinced that Russell is seeking revenge for the way Floyd treated him as a child, but in reality Russell wants them to spend more time together. Grace's sister Evie arrives and announces she's just married a very rich man whom she's known for only three weeks. When Evie offers to pay for Quentin's new room and Grace declines, Evie accuses her of being envious of her new financial security. Rick shows up and defends Grace to Evie, but later he too offers to help pay for the room and again an annoyed Grace declines. When Rick later apologizes, Grace tells him her desire for independence has a lot to do with Jimmy; she won't take Rick's money, but she could use some help with the wiring. Evie also apologizes, and Grace admits that she may be a little envious of her baby sister, but she loves Evie and worries that her marriage is based more on money than love.
