Lily's
ecstatic when she learns that Eddie has scored four tickets for
her to the No Doubt concert. Henry's wearing a hat in the house
to cover up his awful haircut. Sean claims that Tony, their barber,
did this. Walt says Tony is not capable of giving such a horrific
haircut. Claudia says that clearly Tony's incompetent, but Sean
had a talk with him. Walt's afraid Sean screamed at the man who's
been giving Walt a perfect haircut for years. After Claudia leaves
the room, Sean tells Walt the truth. It all started because Claudia
felt Sean wasn't doing his share. Sean agrees to take Henry to get
a haircut before his choir recital even though Claudia's convinced
he'll forget. In fact, Sean doesn't forget but he makes a few detours
on the way-to a movie, to the ice cream store and to watch the demolition
of a building. When they get to the barber shop it's closed. Sean
has no alternative but to cut Henry's hair himself, and he botches
the job badly. Sean tells Claudia that the barber was drunk when
he cut Henry's hair and swears Jimmy to secrecy telling him that
if he goes down, Jimmy goes with him. Lily decides that she needs
to think carefully about who she invites to the concert. These tickets
could be the key to her popularity. Claudia's radar detects that
Jimmy isn't telling the truth about Henry's hair, and he's quick
to tell her the real story. Claudia tells Jimmy not to tell his
dad that she knows the truth. He protests that now she's making
him lie. The two lies cancel each other out, Claudia assures him.
Claudia confronts Sean and says that he has no shame. Rather than
tell her the truth he was willing to scream at poor Tony. In fact,
Sean only pretended to yell at Tony and made a complete fool of
himself at the barber shop. Lily is totally stressed at the prospect
of not making the correct choice in giving out the concert tickets.
She gives Eddie back the tickets saying that the stakes are just
too high. And Sean apologizes to Claudia. He's just not programmed
to be efficient like she is. He's in awe of her. Claudia says she
can see right through him. She claims that she knew he was lying
all along.
