Episode #303 "Cuts Like A Knife"

Sean and Eddie are at the urologist's office waiting for Sean to get a vasectomy. Sean's scared, and Eddie's not making him feel any better about the upcoming surgery. Sean tells Eddie he's doing this because after Claudia's pregnancy scare, he promised that he would. At the Finnerty house at some later date, Eddie tells Sean he's designing a website for the bar, Red-boot-pub-dot-com. Sean can't understand why they need a website to sell mugs of beer, but Eddie reminds him that this is the twenty-first century. Claudia comes in wearing a sexy jogging outfit and starts coming on to Sean. He reminds her that his vasectomy is still a little tender. Claudia thinks it should be healed by now, but Sean says they're just going to have to wait a little longer. When Eddie asks what's going on, Sean tells him to mind his own business. A flashback shows Sean storming out of the doctor's office without having had the surgery. Several scenes follow in which Claudia does her best to seduce Sean who comes up with excuses which are more and more lame. Sean goes back to the urologist and makes a second attempt to get the vasectomy but again chickens out. Lily is tutoring Brad in math and he's paying her, but it appears that Brad knows more than she does and is just going through the motions so he can be close to her. Sean tells Eddie he doesn't know how much longer he can hold out with Claudia. They just can't afford to get pregnant again! Claudia asks Eddie if he's noticed that Sean seems cranky lately. Eddie suggests that after the operation Sean may be feeling a little less than manly; he encourage Claudia to use all her feminine wiles on Sean. Claudia's working overtime on her mission to seduce Sean, and he briefly continues to avoid either unprotected sex or confessing that he chickened out, but he eventually gives in. They've just had sex, and Sean's in panic mode. He's risked Claudia's getting pregnant, so he could keep his secret. But Claudia intercepts a call from the urologist's office and finds out the truth. Brad gets frustrated during one of the tutoring sessions and tells Lily he's president of the math club. The light dawns for Lily: she's a math geisha! When Claudia drops a tray of ice down Sean's pants, he realizes that he's busted. He tells her it's hard to explain, but having a vasectomy is like slamming the door on his manhood. Claudia's not impressed; she schedules another appointment and drags Sean back to the urologist. But when the doctor tells her that in seconds her childbearing years will be over and she can move on to other activities, like golf, Claudia says nothing doing, and she and Sean are out the door in a flash.
