Episode #307 "All the Young Nudes"

SYNOPSIS:

Claudia comes home from a PTA meeting and announces that a protest has been planned at a new strip club, The Red Boot. Brad's upset with Lily, because she hasn't broken up with Dean yet. Lily protests that she's afraid of hurting him, even though she insists that she no longer has feelings for him. Claudia's really steamed about the strippers and because Sean didn't tell her about them. Sean says he didn't think she'd be interested. Eddie enters with five strippers and tries to pretend to Claudia that they're members of his book club. Jimmy and Henry come in with Bobby, a kid they found outside whizzing in their bushes. Bobby's the son of Veronica, one of the strippers. Sean wants to know why Eddie brought the strippers to his house. Eddie says it's because things were getting ugly with the protesters outside the bar, and the ladies needed a place to lay low for a coule of hours. Claudia's livid. She doesn't want strippers in her house, where her children live. Sean tells her they hired the strippers as a gimmick, because they were desperate, on the verge of bankruptcy. It seemed fresher than mechanical bulls. And amazingly enough, the money started coming in. Bobby tells Henry and Jimmy that his mom works at their bar: she dances naked. It's tough, but Lily tells Dean they're breaking up. He takes it hard-for about five seconds. Eddie talks to someone at the bar, and learns that the protest is getting violent. They yanked off his Mickey Mouse antenna ball. Sean says they're going to have to drop the stripper thing. Eddie shows Sean the Xeroxed flyer that got the PTA riled up. It looks like someone wants them out of business. Eddie recognizes the drawing on the flyer. It's a naked lady exactly like the one Sean's been drawing ever since the fifth grade. Sean sold them out! Sean protests that he had his reasons. Dean's hanging out with Lily, and they're watching television as if nothing happened at all. Lily's not happy that Dean's genuinely okay with the break-up. Sean tells Eddie that the problem was that he got to know the strippers too well and also their kids and husbands. Naked strangers are hot, while naked employees are just awkward. He actually went so far as to invite Sister Helen to bring a group of protesters to the bar. She wasn't interested unless that parents became upset. That's why the flyers were necessary. A few hours later the PTA was out in force. Eddie grudgingly says he'll talk to the girls and tell them their gig is over. To get a rise out of Dean, Lily tells him that Brad's her new boyfriend. Dean's furious. He tells Lily that she and Brad deserve each other and storms out. Finally, Lily gets the reaction she's looking for. Sean tells Claudia that all's well-the strippers are out. But Claudia says he can't do that. She knows them now and likes them. How will they make a living? But the strippers are out, and the next week it's karaoke!
