Eddie comes back from vacation, and is shocked to find that the bar filled with Knights of Hibernia in full night gear. The Knights are everywhere, drinking, showing each other their scars and playing gin. How could Sean have let this happen? Eddie reminds Sean that when they were kids and their dad went on and on about lodge, they made a vow that they'd die before they ever became Knights. Sean explains that he only joined because Lily has her heart set on being in their beauty pageant, and he can't quit now, because Lily would be crushed. Lily's at the house with Jenna, one of her girlfriends, when Sean comes in. Jenna looks familiar, and she looks at him funny. Where does he know her from? Then it dawns on Sean that Jenna has been in the bar-as a customer-and he's flirted with her a little. He's horrified. Lily's wracking her brain to come up with a social issue to talk about as part of the pageant competition. Beauty pageants are degrading, Claudia tells her. She can't figure out why Lily wants to be part of one. Lily says it would be great for people to make a big deal about her, just for once. Lily needs to practice her song for the pageant. Claudia plays piano to accompany her. Walt comes in with the official pageant program. Lily doesn't see a talent competition listed, and Walt explains that they dropped that a couple of years ago. Now the contestants are judged on merit. Lily's not thrilled with this news, but decides she still wants to compete. Backstage at the competition, Lily encounters Jenna. Jenna's surprised to see Lily there. She didn't think Lily was the type. Lois, Jenna's mother, seems very competitive. She arrogantly tells Claudia that her daughter has a serious chance of winning and laughs when Claudia says that Lily does also. Claudia tells Lily she has faith in her. She's better than any of these shallow, painted Barbie dolls. Lily gets onstage and starts talking about the environment, but can't resist bursting into song. Jenna takes the stage and begins expounding on the dangers of teenage drinking. Sean can't believe what he's hearing. And when Lily's announced as first runner up and Jenna's declared the winner, Sean sets the record straight, and the decision is reversed.
