Episode #313 "Been Caught Stealing"

SYNOPSIS:

When Sean and Eddie discover that the bar has been robbed and trashed, they call the police immediately, but are frustrated when their dad insists on tidying up. He's tampering with evidence. Lily comes in asking for money to go to the mall, and Sean reminds her that they've just been robbed. Eddie stops Walt as he wipes up the bar. He's destroying fingerprints. Claudia's frustrated that Jimmy and his girlfriend Lorna are spending so much time making out on the couch. She tells them to get a room but quickly backpedals when she realizes what she's just said. Eddie's flashing around a new "LaunchLink," a Palm Pilot-type device and tells Sean he's inputting suspects' names. They interrogate Reggie, a bar employee, and a customer. Eddie accuses Reggie of stealing from his employers, but Reggie denies everything. Sean thinks Eddie's being ridiculous. Walt offers to write the guys a check to cover their loss, but Sean won't accept it. Walt has better things to spend his money on, like Louise, the woman was with at the bar the night before. Sean says that Louise was all over Walt. Walt protests that it wasn't like that. Lily tells her mom that she and Brad were shopping at the mall for some pants for Brad when things got complicated. Brad's trying on clothes when Lily meets a really cool guy, Caleb. They get into a conversation about clothes, and Caleb asks Lily to meet him there the next day. Lily agrees. She tells her mom that she wants to explore her options. It has nothing to do with Brad. In fact it wouldn't be fair to Brad to be stuck with her if she's destined for someone else. Claudia sarcastically says she hope Brad cares enough to do the same for Lily sometime. Claudia asks Sean where Eddie would get the money to buy a LaunchLink . Sean protests that Eddie wouldn't steal money that's half his, but Claudia isn't so sure. When they hear Eddie talking about a trip to St. Thomas, Sean accuses him of robbing the bar. Eddie flatly denies it, and Sean says he's both a thief and a liar. Eddie storms out. Walt tries to push Sean to patch things up with Eddie. He offers to give them the money they lost so they can make up. Sean says he won't apologize to Eddie, and he doesn't want Eddie back in his house. But Eddie shows up at Walt's invitation, and Sean makes a grudging apology. Lily comes back from the mall and is clearly upset. Caleb came back to the store where Lily was waiting, but Caleb had mistaken her for an employee. He was only coming back to buy a jacket. Lily's devastated. She should have listened to her mom. Claudia knows that Brad sometimes embarrasses Lily, but they have a good thing going. And besides, Lily's going to have a hard time finding a guy who's as big a dork as she is! Sean and Eddie are still sniping at each other when Walt confesses that it's all his fault. He and Louise hung around the bar after closing. Louise handcuffed him, robbed the bar and took off. By the time he got himself free, the bar was trashed. Walt's so embarrassed that Sean tells Claudia that the police found the culprit, a punk teenager who's very ashamed of himself.
