Episode #315 "Just Like A Woman"

SYNOPSIS:

Eddie's getting ready for a yard sale he's having a Sean's house. Brad has some stuff to sell, and Lily gives Eddie a bunch of her old clothes. And to think she almost wasted the stuff at Goodwill. Brad invites Lily out for coffee after the game, but she reminds him she's dating Dean. After she leaves, Eddie tells Brad to hang in and see what happens. Brad reaches in Lily's bag and pulls out a pink lacy bra. Eddie agrees to sell it to him for forty bucks. The next morning Lily's congratulating herself on last night's performance with the Dance Squad. The crowd loved her. She's a great dancer! Henry comes in with ice skates that he's selling in the yard sale. He wanted to learn hockey, but there's nobody to teach him. Sean volunteers, but Henry says Sean isn't the hockey type. Sean tells Eddie that Henry thinks his dad is a big fat wuss. The night before on the freeway Sean's unable to fix their flat tire, so Claudia flags down a trucker while Sean sits in back wrapped in a shawl pretending to be a little old lady. Jimmy and Henry are mortified. Claudia retrieves the toaster that Eddie was going to sell. Yes, she wants to keep it. Her toast is still in it. Lily's friend Leah comes over and demands the scoop about Lily and Brad. Everybody's talking about it. Brad's been flashing Lily's bra around on the basketball court. Lily realizes it must have come from her Goodwill bag. Jimmy tells Lily he knew Brad had the bra along with almost everyone in the bleachers the night before. No wonder Lily got so many hoots and hollers. A twenty-something guy, Michael, shows up at the Finnertys looking for Henry. Henry applied for a big brother. Sean grabs Jimmy and Henry by the collars and hustles them to the front door. They're going to the batting cages-right now. Eddie has just sold the Finnertys' porch swing which Claudia is now forced to buy back from an old lady. Sean comes in and tells Claudia they never got to the batting cages. They stop at the bar where Sean gets into a fight, shoving a man onto the floor. Claudia thinks he did it just to impress the boys. The problem is that the man has a prosthetic leg which comes off when he falls. Lily confronts Brad about her bra. She's humiliated, but Brad's going to fix things. At the half-time show next week, Lily tells Brad, he's going to grab the microphone, stand in center course and tell the world that he's a liar and a virgin! But she realizes that he is truly sorry for what he did, and she lets him off the hook. She does, however, want her bra back. Sean is installing a chin-up bar in the bedroom closet. He tells Claudia he's getting soft. He's a wild animal who's been so domesticated that he can't survive in the jungle anymore. Claudia thinks Sean's overreacting. One stupid little thing won't make the boys lose respect for him. But Sean isn't so sure. Later, Claudia discovers that Eddie is now selling car stereos. It all falls into place for Claudia. Eddie's using the yard sale to fence stolen goods. Claudia wastes no time shutting him down. It's clear to Sean that the boys think he's a big wuss. He makes a big speech about what it is to be a man, and Jimmy just rolls his eyes. Sean demands that the boys watch him chug a full bottle of Tabasco sauce. Claudia demands that he put down the bottle. She tells Jimmy and Henry that they're ruining her years of hard work to make Sean stop being a macho jackass. Sean put on that shawl when their car broke down and did what it took. He put his ego aside to take care of his wife and family. That's what a real man does.
