Brad and Lily are in the Finnerty living room watching TV. Brad wants to make out; after all, now they have nothing to hide. Sure, says Lily, it's fine for Brad. He's a guy; he "got some." She "gave it up." Eddie comes in with Jimmy and Henry. They're working off the debt they owe him from stealing his coin collection. Sean's freaking out, because Mr. O'Keefe is grilling in the backyard. He can't stand the stink, he tells Claudia. Claudia thinks Sean's upset, because seeing O'Keefe reminds Sean of the Brad and Lily situation. Sean also takes it personally that O'Keefe uses clear plastic trash bags instead of the more common green ones. Sean walks in on Brad and Lily making out in the laundry room. A few minutes later he walks outside and deliberately sprays O'Keefe's grill with the hose. That evening Lily learns that her parents have invited the O'Keefes over for dinner. Now that Lily and Brad are together, Claudia doesn't want problems between the families. Connie and Dan O'Keeefe arrive with Brad in tow. Dan brings a bottle of wine, and even this gesture irritates Sean. They're in the living room trying to make small talk, and it's excruciatingly awkward. Sean goes into the kitchen where Henry volunteers to call the wine store to find out how much O'Keefe paid for the wine. Lily and Brad have retreated to the dining room. Lily's sure that their having sex is the sole topic of their parents' conversation. When dinner is at last served, Sean and O'Keefe start bickering immediately. Claudia tries to calm everyone down saying that they have to be civil now that Lily and Brad have become intimate. Connie O'Keefe loses it. This is the first she's heard of all this. She calls Lily a tramp. Sean asks O'Keefe why he didn't tell his wife. The O'Keefes storm out dragging Brad with them. Later, again trying to smooth things over, Claudia takes a cake next door. Her peacemaking gesture is lost on the O'Keefes. Their son was robbed of his innocence. A cake solves nothing. Claudia leaves but not before hurling the cake into their house. At home, Sean's watching tapes of the family. He tells Claudia that he found some old tapes of Lily that were made back when he could understand her a little. Claudia goes to Lily's room to see how she's doing. Lily knows her mom was trying to fix things, but they didn't need fixing. Everything was just fine. She asks Claudia to promise her that Sean won't go next door and make things even worse. And as a peace offering, Sean takes some ice cream to Lily in her room where he finds Brad hiding under the bed.
