Episode #406 "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

Puberty has hit Jimmy head on, and all the Finnertys smell him. He stinks! Sean remembers how nasty puberty can be, and when Claudia wants to talk to Jimmy, Sean insists that this is dad territory. Later, Claudia's getting ready to get in the shower when Brad opens the bathroom door and sees her naked. Later, Brad and Lily are together in the living room when Claudia comes in. Brad laughs nervously but won't tell Lily the real reason why. Eddie gives Henry some of his Red Snake energy, and Henry blasts off. Why don't you just give him eighty cups of coffee, asks Sean. Eddie suggests to Sean that rather than having a big discussion, he should just slip Jimmy some deodorant. Don't make a big deal about it. As if Sean's going to take parenting advice from Eddie! Brad and Lily are in the kitchen studying when Claudia walks into the kitchen, and Brad starts acting strangely again. Lily follows Claudia into the living room. Brad's being really weird, even for Brad. Claudia knows what's wrong and tells Lily. So Claudia was just parading around naked, says Lily. Right, says Claudia, in the shower! Lily's steaming. Evidently Brad hasn't gotten over his obsession with Claudia. But Claudia insists that it's no big deal. Sean goes off to talk to Jimmy, and again Eddie advises him to downplay it. Remember, no one ever had "the talk" with them. In the kitchen, Lily confronts Brad and demands he admit he liked seeing her mom naked. When he gives up and admits it, she goes nuts. Sean tries to talk to Jimmy, and it's excruciating. It's way too much information for Jimmy. Nauseated, he bolts out of the room. The next day, Claudia and Lily are in the dining room when Brad comes in. Lily's still upset, and Brad won't even look at Claudia until Lily demands that he do so. Then she's even more upset and tells him that Claudia's not a piece of meat. Brad can't win. Claudia exits. Brad pulls out a photo of his dad-naked. Now they're even. Lily freaks. They're not even. Her mom's hot, and his dad is nasty! Sean and Jimmy come home, and Claudia learns that there was a fight at school-between Sean and Eddie. Sean was a little bummed out about their talk and decided to pick Jimmy up at school only to find Eddie already there. Eddie tells Sean he's just there to help Jimmy out with a little problem. Sean goes ballistic, and they struggle over Jimmy's book bag, which turns into a full blown fight. Jimmy admits that he asked for Eddie's help, because he got into a little trouble at school. After Sean's talk, he was too humiliated to take a shower after gym class. Jimmy never wants to hear the word "puberty" from Sean again. All this, Sean tells Claudia, and Jimmy still stinks. Lily has a plan to put her mom out of Brad's mind forever. She shows him a video of Claudia giving birth to Henry. The plan works brilliantly. Sean takes some deodorant to Jimmy in his room and leaves it at that. And Eddie and Sean try to apologize, and their efforts end in a scuffle.
