Episode #410 "I Think We’re Alone Now"

Claudia and Sean are trying to watch a movie and chill out, but they’re constantly interrupted by the boys’ fighting, Lily stressing about the Winter Formal and a visit from Eddie. Claudia has a gift certificate for an in-home couples massage that she suggests they use next Saturday when Lily’s at the dance. Sean tells Eddie they need him to take the boys out that night. He and Claudia need two hours to themselves. Eddie, not thrilled with the idea, says he’ll see what he can do. On Saturday night, the two massage therapists arrive at the Finnertys and prepare for the ninety-minute massage. Lily comes in and wants to be photographed in her dress for the dance. Her parents tell her she looks beautiful, and Claudia takes some pictures. Lily’s excited, because she helped Brad pick out his tux, and this is the first big event they’re going to as a couple. Eddie comes by to pick up the boys just as Brad arrives. Claudia grabs the camera again and shoots Lily just as she’s hiking up her panty hose. Claudia shoos everyone out of the house. Brad surprises Lily with the limo he hired. Claudia shoots a picture of them posing by the car. A few minutes later, in the Finnerty living room, Rick and Denise are oiling their hands to begin the massages. As Denise begins to massage Claudia and Rick does the same with Sean, Sean asks if he can have a private word with Claudia. He’s not comfortable being massaged by a guy. Claudia reminds him that they’re paying for this conversation. She’s fine with taking Rick, and Sean can have Denise. They begin again with the massages. Claudia really seems to be enjoying hers. Sean asks for another time out. He’s not comfortable seeing Claudia massaged by a guy. They trade back again, and Sean’s back with Rick. This time both Sean and Claudia are really getting into it, when suddenly the lights go on. It’s Lily, home from the dance, with a badly sprained ankle. Brad helps Lily prop her foot up, but she’d like a little attention from her parents. Sean asks if they can stop the clock, but Rick explains that it doesn’t work that way. Brad and Sean pick Lily up and move her to the kitchen. Claudia tells Lily and Brad that they just need forty-one minutes of privacy. That’s all they ask. Brad leaves, and Lily comes into the living room. She’s limping on the wrong foot. Claudia demands an explanation. Lily admits she didn’t sprain her ankle, but she just had to get Brad away from the dance as quickly as possible. He was trying to bust some funky moves, but he wasn’t half as funky as he was trying to be. The popular kids were starting to stare. Sean tells her that that wasn’t a cool thing to do, but right now they need to finish their massage. Moments later, Eddie comes in with the boys. Their faces are smeared with paint. Sean demands an explanation. He learns that Eddie took the boys to play paintball. Claudia sends them upstairs to get cleaned up. Brad comes in with an Ace bandage for Lily and sees that she’s not limping. She tells him the truth, and they start a loud fight. Brad exits as Sean and Claudia come in. Lily tells Claudia she didn’t want people laughing at Brad. Claudia sets her straight. Lily didn’t want people laughing at her. Brad tries hard,a nd he deserves better treatment. Sean pushes Lily out the door. They go back in the living room and find Eddie on the massage table.
