Episode #205 "The Sting"

  Brenda is dating Nelson, a nature enthusiast who Jamie thinks is hopeless. When he hears Nelson invite Brenda on a hiking outing, Jamie decides to take action. Steve admits to Katie that even though they’ve been dating for a month, he hasn’t actually broken up with Melinda, his former girlfriend; she insists he do the right thing and contact the girl immediately. Jamie learns that Nelson’s allergic to bee stings, and, when he sees Nelson’s bee sting kit, tries to convince Brenda she’s dating a drug addict. Steve breaks up with Melinda, but Jamie tells him he can’t admit to Katie she was right, so Steve decides to teach her a lesson. He says he needs some closure so he’s taking Melinda on a date; later he says he has to accompany Melinda to New Orleans to her aunt’s funeral. Katie’s seething and suspects what Steve is up to but pretends she thinks he’s doing the right thing. Jamie tries to sic a jar of bees on Nelson but they turn on him and he falls off the fire escape. Steve’s tired of hiding from Katie and pretending he’s in New Orleans; Katie reveals to Jamie that Steve actually introduced Nelson to Brenda, so Jamie feels compelled to torture Steve in revenge and to bust him to Katie. But Steve promises to help Jamie break up Brenda and Nelson, so Jamie changes his story with Katie and tells her what a great guy Steve is. And Jamie, with inside information from Steve, reveals to Brenda that Nelson has a disgustingly hairy back.
