Jamie
gives Brenda a ride to work in exchange for the promise of a date
that night. He has tickets to a gymnastics show, but when he gets
to the hospital to pick up Brenda she’s not ready because she’s
with a woman in labor; Jamie doesn’t want them to be late, so he
begins insulting and berating the woman who gives birth immediately.
Her husband’s so grateful that he vows to name the child after Jamie.
Steve and Katie are intrigued by a neighbor couple, a young woman
with a very much older man; Steve and Katie can see into their bedroom
window and are fascinated by their sex life. They’re really intrigued
when a young man who appears to be a plumber starts showing up when
the older man isn’t there. Word gets around of Jamie’s unorthodox
method of coaching the woman in labor and all of a sudden he’s in
great demand and being offered large sums of money. Steve and Katie
feel sorry for the older gentleman they’ve been watching, because
they’re sure his wife is cheating on him with the plumber. Jamie’s
fame as a birthing coach becomes so widespread that when the Geraldo
Show is broadcasting from Indianapolis, Jamie goes on to talk about
his revolutionary technique; he does a demonstration for Geraldo
in the studio. Steve and Katie are so angry with the plumber that
hey intercept him in the hall and start to talk to him about his
affair; they quickly learn that he’s the husband and barely avoid
revealing to him that his wife is cheating. Jamie’s ego has become
enormous, and he’s riding high until he passes a kidney stone and
gets some idea of what the women in labor are going through; from
then on he doesn’t have the heart to insult them anymore. And Steve
ask the old guy what his secret is for seducing younger women; the
man says they when they talk he listens.
