Episode #111 "He Always Gets His Man"

SYNOPSIS:

U.S. Marshal Frank Wazniak shows up at Pamela's, complete with surveillance unit, in hopes of apprehending her ex-boyfriend Eugene who has escaped from federal prison. He's offering on-site protection or he can re-locate everyone to a safe house. Pamela can't imagine that they are in any danger, but Frank says that prison can change a man. He'll be staying with them until Eugene is found but swears everyone to secrecy. Bill and Joan arrive, and Frank is introduced as Pamela's new boyfriend who's an airline pilot. Bill's impressed; he approves, for once, of Pamela's choice. At Eugene's suggestion, Pamela talks her parents into taking the kids for a few days. Later Bill and Joan have a domestic crisis when a bird gets into the house and then gets trapped in the wall. Eugene begins to secure Pamela's house; Pamela finds him very odd and doesn't want to be left alone with him. Butch goes to Elizabeth's and tells everyone what's going on. Danny goes to the Ohio State Police web site and learns that Eugene was apprehended two hours ago. Butch is puzzled that Frank didn't already have this information. When Butch tells him, Frank confesses that he's head-over-heels crazy about Butch. Frank spends the night with Butch, and the next morning there's no way to conceal that fact from Pamela. Butch confesses to her that this isn't his proudest moment. He vows to tell Frank that there's nothing between them and that this was a big mistake. Bill's been up all night chasing the bird with a B.B. gun. He's asleep on the sofa with the bird perched on his head. Joan aims, fires, misses and hits Bill. He's just having a bad dream, says Joan. Frank cooks a fabulous dinner for Butch, and Butch tries to tell Frank the truth, but the evening ends with the two guys still together. Bill and Joan come over early the next morning and see Frank in his robe. They assume he's sleeping with Pamela until Joan notices that Frank went to get his pants out of Butch's room. Bill refuses to accept the implications and tells Joan they need to go somewhere and get really drunk. And Frank tells Butch, to Butch's great relief, that they're going to have to call it quits; commitment isn't his style.
