It's prom time, and, after a conversation with Hyde, Eric decides to rent a motel room for prom night. Kelso announces that he's taking Pam Macy, an "easy" girl to the prom. Jackie's upset that she and Michael aren't going to the prom together; when he tells her that he's taking Pam Macy, Jackie pretends she has a hot date too. Jackie's so depressed about the prom that Hyde, who has claimed all along that he wouldn't be going, feels sorry for her and asks her to be his date. Midge tells Kitty that she really wants to get a job; later she informs Bob, Red and Kitty that she wants to open her own card shop. Bob doesn't know what hit him; he tells Red that the woman he married liked to cook and didn't go to therapy. At the prom, Kelso introduces Eric and Donna to Pam Macy who has trouble speaking in full sentences. Fez appears to be madly attracted to Ms. Kaminsky, one of the teachers. Hyde's amazed at how beautiful Jackie looks; they take off for the prom in her dad's Lincoln. Eric tells Donna he's rented a room and they leave the prom immediately. Kelso sees Hyde with Jackie and is devastated; Hyde agrees to be a pal and take Pam off his hands so Kelso and Jackie can be together. And the motel room is so sleazy that Eric and Donna agree that maybe they should go back to the prom.
