Episode #201 "Red's last Day"

SYNOPSIS:

Kelso's Uncle has given him a van, and he can't believe his good fortune. Hyde tells Eric that the van would be a great place to score with Donna, but Donna, overhearing, says there's no way she's doing it in a van. There's a moment of tension between Bob and Midge when Midge tells Kelso to be careful or he'll end up married by the time he's nineteen. It's Red's last day of work, and breakfast is awkward as everyone tries to avoid mentioning it. Red's co-workers invite him out for a drink after work for old times' sake. Kelso has a fantasy in which Paul Anka and Lyle Waggoner tell him that now that he has the van, he should be sowing a lot more wild oats. Laurie interrupts Kelso's daydream and starts coming on to him; Kelso lamely resists, but within a couple of minutes Laurie has gotten him out of his clothes. Kelso can't wait to tell Hyde, Fez and Eric that he made it with Laurie. Hyde and Fez egg him on, but Eric says if Kelso doesn't shut up he's going to tell Jackie. Jackie tells Donna that she's glad Kelso has a van; it's a step towards responsibility, so maybe Michael is maturing. Jackie asks Donna if she and Eric have done it yet; Donna says it will happen when it happens. Later, Donna tells Eric that maybe he should borrow Kelso's van some night. Kelso tells Jackie that he thinks they should start dating other people; Jackie vehemently says no. At the bar with his co-workers Red, clearly drunk, starts getting emotional, and they decide it's time to call Kitty. Kitty sends Eric, Hyde and Fez to bring Red home, but Red insists they stay and have a drink with him, and the evening ends with Eric calling Kitty to come and get all of them. The next morning Donna asks Eric where he was the night before, because she stopped by thinking last night was "the night". Eric suggests that maybe it can be tonight, but Donna says she doesn't think tonight feels right. And Kelso again tries unsuccessfully to fend off Laurie; she tells him he's a tool that she'll use when she please
