Episode #223 "Holy Crap"

SYNOPSIS:

When Kitty is called in to work unexpectedly on Sunday morning, she assumes that the rest of the family will going to church as usual. Red decides to take a break and stay home, but he makes Eric and Laurie go without him. Eric tells Laurie that they should do whatever they want but tell the parents that they went to church; Laurie says that Eric's finally catching on. But they get busted when Bob self-righteously tells Kitty that he didn't see any of the Formans at church. Fez and Kelso decide to grow beards, and Fez is immediately successful. Kelso's beard looks pretty scruffy, and he gets a lot of ribbing from the gang. Jackie is especially vocal and vehement about how stupid Kelso looks, but she privately tells Donna that she thinks he looks hot. She asks Donna to say some bad stuff about Kelso to prevent her from doing something she'll regret like sleeping with him. Donna says no problem; Kelso's a dog, a liar and a cheater. The next Sunday Kitty's ready to leave for church, and no one else wants to go. She sits in the pew alone and has to endure Bob's questions about why none of the rest of her family is there. Leo sits down next to Kitty and says that he loves it there; he especially loves the organ music and thinks this is what heaven is going to be like. A fantasy sequence follows in which St. Peter sends all the Formans (including Kitty) to hell, because they didn't go to church as a family. The Pinciottis, however, have no problem being admitted to heaven. Kitty decides that this just isn't going to happen. Kitty tells Red she's figured out what to do with their sinner children. She's asked the youth minister to come to dinner. She further points out that Red is hardly setting a good example, but Red protests that he does go to church, just not during televised sporting events. Dave, the youth minister, comes to dinner, and he's too goody-goody and boring to be believed. Laurie finds him interesting, because clearly he's a virgin that she could convert. Later, they're playing cards, and the "666" in Laurie's hand makes Dave leave in a hurry. Jackie goes to the hub with romance on her mind until she sees that Kelso has shaved off his beard. And the following Sunday Kitty, who will tolerate no arguments, rounds her family up and gets them to church.
