Episode #309 "Ice Shack"

Kelso has invited Eric and Donna on a double date as part of his master plan to win Jackie back. When he confesses to Eric and Donna that his uncle's wonderful cabin in the woods is actually an ice fishing shack, they aren't thrilled, but reluctantly go along with the plan. Jackie is going, because she thinks the whole gang has been invited. Kelso tries to ignore Fez, who's been chasing the van for six blocks, but he finally catches up and demands to go along. At the shack Eric and Donna are very affectionate, declaring that they're the perfect couple. Fez informs Kelso that he'll do anything to win Jackie, and if Kelso gets in his way he'll destroy him. At the Formans, Kitty is fed up with Laurie who does nothing but party all night and sleep all day. She demands that Red do something about it. At the ice shack, Donna talks about how well Eric knows her. Kelso says he knows everything about Jackie too. They play "The Newlywed Game," and Kelso proceeds to prove it. Eric makes a huge mistake by saying that if Donna could change anything about herself it would be her huge feet. Jackie is amazed and thrilled at Kelso's performance. He observes that the way to winning Jackie's heart was in the last place he would think to look, his brain. Donna's really upset. A boyfriend's supposed to tell you that the things you don't like about yourself are fine. Jackie tells Donna that she's actually feeling something for Michael. She needs a sign from God to tell her if she's crazy. Donna says she is crazy, but Jackie doesn't want to hear it from "bigfoot." Red lamely tries to talk to Laurie. He says it's Kitty who's worried; he knows that Laurie is going to find a nice guy (not Kelso) and get married. Laurie says that maybe she could have a career. Red doesn't know how to respond to that. Leo asks Hyde to drive him around, because his license was suspended. Hyde freaks when Leo tells him he has a bag of illegal drugs in the car. Leo says Hyde has no worries; they just can't get pulled over. And a cop does pull them over, because their brake light is out. But they're saved when it's revealed that what Leo thinks is a bag of drugs is actually a bag of dog food. At the ice shack, Jackie tells Kelso she's very close to experiencing strong feelings for him, but she needs a sign. Moments later they leave together Laurie announces to Kitty that she's found her passion, hair; she's going to beauty school. Kelso's van is rocking and shaking when suddenly a loud cracking noise is heard and the van begins to sink through the ice. Jackie and Kelso jump out of the van. Jackie says that this is a sign from God that the shouldn't be together. Kelso doesn't care. He's losing his van!
