Eric’s less than thrilled when he learns that his cousin Penny from Florida is coming for a weekend visit. He remembers her visits when they were children; she was unattractive and a tattletale. Kelso remembers the horrible pranks Eric used to play on Penny. Hyde’s favorite was when Eric trapped her in a revolving door and kept spinning her. Penny arrives, and she’s absolutely gorgeous. A dazzled Eric tries to apologize for having been so mean to her, but she says she doesn’t even remember. And when did Eric get to be so cute? All the guys are impressed by the new Penny, but Jackie and Donna turn catty. Penny isn’t so hot, but she does have a great tan. They decide to spend some time under the sunlamp. Red notices that Eric keeps staring at Penny and tells him to knock it off. Kitty tries to convince Red to let her adopt a stray cat that’s been hanging around their house. Anything but a cat, says Red, and comes home from the pet shop with a goldfish for Kitty. She’s disappointed, but names the fish Fred and decides to decorate a bowl for him. Penny confesses to Eric that she has a little crush on him; Eric complains to the guys that his hands are tied, because, after all, Penny’s his cousin. Kelso says he’s heard of “kissin’ cousins” but that’s about it. Hyde says that it’s done in the south, so Eric should go ahead and go after his cousin. Eric has a fantasy that he and Penny live together in a log cabin with their two-headed son, little Eric. Donna and Jackie fall asleep under the sunlamp and wake up looking like lobsters. Penny tells Eric that she’s not his blood cousin; she found out that she’s adopted. She then asks if he’d like to stay up late and watch movies together in their jammies. Ernie the fish dies, and Kitty informs Red that something’s missing in her life. Red says that she can have anything but a cat. But Kitty says that she’s a nurturer; what she really needs to do is go back to work at the hospital. Eric goes to the basement and finds Penny in her robe. At Penny’s request, he takes off his robe to reveal a T-shirt and red briefs just as Red and Kitty enter. Penny, all innocence, pretends that Eric’s been hitting on her. She denies telling him she was adopted as Red and Kitty go ballistic. When Red and Kitty go upstairs in a huff, Penny tells Eric that that will teach him to play pranks on an innocent little girl.
