Episode #501 "Going To California"

When Eric misses Donna's call from California, he immediately calls her back but can't reach her. He tells the gang that he really has too much to tell Donna to say it on the phone. He wants to tell her to come home; he loves her and misses her. He's just going to have to go and tell her in person. In California, Donna's at the beach with Kelso and his new love interest, Annette. Donna tells Annette that she sat at her mom's house for three hours waiting for Eric to call. Donna asks Kelso how he got over Jackie, but Kelso wants to keep Annette in the dark about Jackie's existence. He makes up a lame story, but Annette's not buying it. Eric tells Red and Kitty his plan to go California, and, though, Kitty thinks it's very sweet, they absolutely forbid it, but Hyde hands Eric a ticket and tells him there's a flight leaving in four hours. Fez volunteers to help him pack, and Jackie promises that they'll cover for him. Eric's decides to go for it. When Fez and Eric leave, Hyde and Jackie start making out. Back in California, Kelso tries desperately to convince Annette to have sex with him, but it's no use. She's a virgin, so it's not negotiable. As Donna is telling Kelso she wishes he and Annette could have their discussion somewhere else, she sees Eric down the beach coming toward her. She hugs and kisses him. She can't believe he came all this way just for her. Eric and Donna tell Kelso they want to go home, and he has the van. Kelso just needs a few more hours, he tells them, to get Annette to put out. In the Forman kitchen, Kitty walks in on Jackie and Hyde making out, and, as a distraction, Jackie blurts out that Eric's in California. Kitty tells Red, but he's already figured it out and is very, very upset. At the beach, Annette and Kelso are building a sand castle. He couldn't be more frustrated as time slips away. Annette can't believe that all he cares about is sex. She thought there was more to him; she believes in him. Donna and Eric are ready to go, so the three get in the van and take off. Three days later back in Point Place there's a reception committee waiting in the Forman driveway. Bob orders Donna into the house. And Kitty tells Eric he's in a load of trouble.
