Eric, Donna, Hyde and Fez are in the Forman basement when Kelso enters accompanied by a beautiful blonde. It's Annette, Kelso's California girlfriend, who's come to visit. Kelso announces that Annette will be staying with Donna who's less than thrilled to hear it. Eric observes that having Annette around would be like having a giant Barbie to play with. Later, at The Hub, Jackie's fuming that Kelso's there with Annette. Hyde wants to stop talking about how jealous Jackie is. Annette takes off to change into her "afternoon outfit," and Fez says that Annette's the girl who's always there when he has a dirty dream. Donna and Eric notice that there's something about Annette that seems evil; then it hits them. She's shrill and bossy. A blonde Jackie! They're doomed! Donna tells Jackie she has to sleep over. Donna can't be left alone with Annette. When Jackie hesitates, Donna reminds her that it's a great chance to chip away at Annette's self-esteem. Jackie accepts. Kitty's parents, Burt and Bea, show up unexpectedly and tell Kitty and Red that due to financial difficulties they had to sell their home in Phoenix. They'll be living with the Formans for a while. Hyde tells Eric that he thinks Jackie's acting strange, because she doesn't like Kelso having a new girl. Eric disagrees. Jackie's acting strange, because Jackie doesn't like Annette, because they're the same person, and that's just scary! In any case, something's going on, and Hyde doesn't like it. Kelso comes in and can't believe the guys are just sitting around while the girls are having a pajama party next door. Eric says they can see right into Donna's house from his driveway, and the guys take off. In the Pinciotti den, Jackie and Donna are in flannel PJs, while Annette's wearing a sexy nightie. The girls are bored. When Annette's out of the room, Jackie makes a disparaging remark about Annette, and Donna says Jackie's just jealous. Kelso likes shallow princess types, and when Jackie was no longer available he imported one from California. Jackie says he was supposed to sit around pining for her. Burt joins the guys in the driveway and asks what they're looking at. Guiltily, they go back into the house leaving Burt alone in the driveway. At the sleepover, Jackie and Annette start bonding and excluding Donna. Red, Kitty and Bea are in the living room when Eric rushes in. He found Burt on the ground, and he's not moving. In the hospital waiting room, Kitty comes in and tells everyone that her dad has passed away. The next day the gang are with the Forman family, Bea and other mourners in the Forman living room. There's a small buffet and a receiving line. Kitty asks her mother how she's doing, and Bea says she's fine. Eric's appalled when Annette sings "I Haven't Got Time for the Pain" to Eric to cheer him up. Hyde tells Fez that maybe he doesn't have any worries since Jackie and Annette are now friends. Donna learns that the guys were spying on her slumber party, and Fez says if she needs a new nightie he'll buy her one.
Kitty tries to get Bea to stop holding in her grief, but Bea wants to rant about how Burt never thought of anyone but himself. That's not grieving, Kitty tells Red. But later, when Kitty finds Bea quietly crying, she awkwardly squeezes her shoulder. Jackie tells Donna that she's no longer jealous of Annette; she actually likes her. Jackie was afraid the jealousy meant she still had feelings for Michael, but she's relieved that that isn't the case. Jackie then looks around and sees Kelso and Annette kissing. She angrily screams,
"Get off my boyfriend!" |
