Episode #523 "Nobody's Fault But Mine"

Red tells Kitty that he dared Eric and Donna to get married next week. If they give the kids what they want, they'll realize they don't want it. But in any case Eric will soon be away at college, the house will be empty, and Red will be in heaven. The door opens and Laurie enters. She's home! Kelso can't believe his eyes when he sees Hyde leaving a hotel room with a woman. He tells Donna that Hyde cheated on Jackie. Kelso can't wait to give the news to Jackie, but Donna says he needs to confront Hyde and give him a chance to explain. Donna and Eric are on to Red's scheme, but they aren't sure what to do about it. Laurie volunteers to help them however she can. She says she's come home to correct the mistakes she's made in the past. At the DMV, Fez is approached by Mitch, a kid from his woodshop class at school, who has given him a hard time in the past. Mitch has a driver's license application. Fez tears it up. Mitch is getting nothing from him! Kelso confronts Hyde, and Hyde denies nothing. He did it, because Jackie cheated on him with Kelso. Kelso again tells him about Fez's sex dream; it's true, and they can go and ask Fez. Although they both pretend they do, Eric and Donna confess to each other that they don't want to get married yet. At the Hub, Mitch is around when Fez confirms Kelso's story for Hyde. Hyde realizes he cheated on Jackie for nothing; when she enters, he tells her they have to talk. Mitch has struck gold. He tells Fez he's going to tell the whole school about Fez's dream. Hyde confesses to Jackie and promises it will never happen again. That's what Michael used to say, says Jackie. It's over. Laurie tells Eric and Donna that if Red is making them miserable then there's only one answer-leave town. Eric hugs Laurie; she's actually being sincere. Mitch visits the Forman basement to give Fez a present-the next day's school newspaper with a front page photo of Fez kissing Kelso by the lake. Jackie tells Donna that after Michael she promised herself that she'd never date another boy who cheated on her. The problem is that she still loves Hyde. Kelso tells Hyde that now that Jackie's single again, he's going after her. Eric and Donna tell Red and Kitty that they're getting an apartment in Madison for the summer, and Kitty's devastated. Her baby's leaving home. Laurie reminds her that she's home now. That's nice, says Kitty despondently. Hyde apologizes to Jackie again. He made a mistake, a stupid one-time thing. And he still loves her. Jackie is shocked. But when she finally speaks, she says that she doesn't love him.
