Episode #605 "I'm Free"

SYNOPSIS:

Hyde, Kitty and Laurie are having breakfast in the Forman kitchen when Eric and Fez enter. Eric has a letter saying that an immigration agent is coming to check out Fez and Laurie's marriage. If it's a sham, Fez could get deported. Laurie observes that she could help Fez pretend the marriage is real, but it would take too much energy. Fez reminds her that she could get in trouble too. Since it's a surprise visit sometime this week, Fez will have to stay with the Formans. Kitty okays it, and Red's really unhappy. Later, Hyde, Kelso, Jackie and Donna are watching TV in the Forman basement. Donna tells Kelso he has to do something about Brooke. The words that come to Kelso's mind are "ignore," "avoid" and "run away." Jackie and Donna agree that Kelso's a horrible pig. The next day, Eric tells Red that he has to keep his mouth shut when the INS comes. Fez could easily get deported. Red says Fez deserves what he gets, because Fez got Laurie into this mess. At The Hub, Donna tells Kelso that if he bails on Brooke, she won't respect him anymore and neither will anyone else. He has to talk to Brooke. Kelso's freaked out, but he agrees to do so. The next morning Kelso finds Brooke at the library checkout desk. Brooke tells him not to worry about anything. As far as she and the baby are concerned, he's off the hook. He doesn't have to think about it ever again. Kelso can't believe it. Brook's the coolest! In the Forman living room, Eric tells Fez that he'd better start kissing Red's butt or he's going to be deported. Agent Armstrong from the INS arrives to conduct the interviews. Red can't wait for his turn, but Kitty sends him to the kitchen and both Kitty and Eric plead with him to keep his mouth shut. Eric plays his trump card: Laurie will get in trouble too. Okay, says Red, he won't volunteer anything, but if he's asked a direct question, he won't lie. In the Forman driveway while shooting hoops, Kelso tells Hyde, Jackie and Donna that he's off the hook with Brooke. He's so happy! His friends are horrified, but he doesn't want a lecture. Brooke said it was fine. His friends remind him that Hyde grew up without a dad and look how angry he is. Kelso storms out. It's easy to talk about the right thing to do when it's not your life. In the Forman living room, Agency Armstrong conducts his investigation. Kitty and Eric are freaked out but do their best to distract him from sensitive areas. Laurie's flirting like crazy with the agent, and Fez is just being himself. At the library, Kelso tells Brooke that he wants to be part of their baby's life. Brooke explains that she didn't let him off the hook just to be nice. She doesn't think he understands what it means to have a baby. If he gets involved, she'll have two babies to take care of instead of one. She's sorry, but she doesn't want him to be the father of her child. Kelso assures her that he's not walking away from this. Back at the Formans, Agent Armstrong is satisfied that the marriage is legitimate, even if there were a few "interesting" answers. Red can't hide his disgust. The agent gives him one last chance to say something, and everyone holds their breath. The kids are married and in love, Red says reluctantly.
