Eric has been fired from the dog food factory. He tells Bob he can't believe Bob's girlfriend Joanne would let that happen. Bob's very choked up. Joanne broke up with him, and he never saw it coming. Hyde tells Eric they're looking for a waiter at the restaurant, but Kelso wants the job too. He has a baby on the way. Eric says they both should apply, and may the best man win. In the living room, Red and Kitty walk in while Fez and Laurie are bickering. Kitty gave Laurie fifty dollars to file for divorce. What happened? Laurie needed a new make-up mirror-and wine. Red says that tomorrow they're going to the courthouse. Jackie and Donna decide that Bob needs cheering up. They'll send him fudge from a secret admirer. The next day at the hotel restaurant, Eric and Kelso tell Roy that the both want the waiter's job. Hyde suggests a competition. Red, Kitty, Fez and Laurie are ready to leave for the courthouse when a package arrives. It's a wedding present from Aunt Martha. Kitty wants to take a peek, but Red says they have to send it right back. A delighted Bob tells Jackie and Donna that he just received some fudge. He hopes it's from a lady. Joanne calls, and the newly confident Bob tells her it's a little late to talk about getting back together. At the restaurant, Roy tests the guys' skill at remembering customers' orders. A cocky Eric aces it, while Kelso does miserably. Next is a test on how to deal with difficult customers. Again, Eric does great. The last test involves maneuvering around tables with a tray loaded with dishes. Eric does a fine job, even jumping over a chair that Hyde has kicked in front of him. Kelso follows the same route and sends his tray flying across the room. It's official. Eric's hired for the waiter's job. Kelso can be a bus boy. That evening, Kitty's still fretting about the present. It could be perishable. They have to open it. There's a tear in the wrapping, and Kitty takes a close look. It's a Kenmore microwave! At the restaurant, Eric asks Roy to give Kelso another chance. Eric will work with him to try to improve his skills. No problem, says Roy, his standards are low. Donna confesses to Bob that she and Jackie sent him the fudge. Bob guesses it's not so bad. He hasn't thought about Joanne all day. That night in the Forman basement, Eric works with Kelso. He loads a tray with dishes for Kelso to practice with. Eric tries to boost his confidence, but the tray crashes to the floor. The next morning, Red's astonished to discover that Kitty's using the microwave. Red thinks it's terrible. God wants those two divorced! But another package arrives, and it's a power saw. Fez gives the saw to Red. Kitty points out that it isn't a problem as long as the kids stay married. Laurie protests that she wants a divorce. They'll talk later, Red tells her. Kelso masters the art of tray toting with the help of some super glue, but both he and Eric know he'll be a disaster as a waiter.
