Episode #607 "Christmas"

SYNOPSIS:

In the Forman basement, Donna breaks the news to Eric that she has to work at the station on Christmas Eve. But it's a good thing, because it's her first shot at deejaying. If she does well, she could be regular deejay Tuesdays from one to five a.m. Jackie comes in and announces that she's been kicked off the cheerleading squad. She needs Steven to take her to the school Christmas dance the next night. They'll never take her back if she doesn't show up all proud. Hyde says if he has to go, the other guys are coming too. Kelso, Fez and Eric all have great reasons why they can't go until Kitty comes down and tells them Red's going to be Santa at the mall, and she's volunteered the guys to be his helpers. Sorry, they're going to the dance. The next day, Eric promises Donna he'll leave the dance very early and come over to the station and hang out with her. Red's complaining to Kitty that he doesn't want to play Santa, but she insists he needs some good cheer in his cranky heart. Bob arrives and is very upset that Red's replacing him as Santa. Management says he's too jolly. Santa could use an elf, Kitty suggests, and Bob says fine. At the library, Kelso's trying to convince Brooke he'd be a great dad for their baby. He's getting a lot more mature. She asks him to help her hang decorations that night for the library Christmas party. Not a chance! At the dance, Jackie and Hyde encounter Julie, one of the cheerleaders, who Jackie promptly insults. It's the only language they understand, Jackie explains. Fez is on the lookout for football players. He doesn't want to spend another holiday in a locker. Eric's jazzed about how much attention he's getting from a couple of cute girls. They really think he's great. In fact, all for guys are pretty much the center of attention. They're confident and cool. At the station, Donna's having a blast until a caller requests a song to be dedicated to Eric Forman, the coolest guy at the Christmas dance. What a sneaky bastard, Donna seethes as she exits. At the mall, Bob's trying to coach a very curmudgeonly Red on how to be a good Santa. Santa's cheery and never calls a child "dumbass," Kitty chimes in. At the dance, Kelso tells Eric that he can't stop thinking about Brooke. He doesn't care about any of the girls here; he's going to the library. Julie's impressed that Jackie's dating an older man. She's jealous, she tells Jackie. At the mall, Red's Santa is a disaster. He's really depressing the kids. Bob, in a Santa suit, sits down in the Santa chair. He's taking over! Donna shows up at the dance and demands to know what's going on. Eric says he must have lost track of time. Donna can't believe he'd get a swelled head just because a bunch of high school kids think he's cool. But when a guy approaches and asks if she's Hot Donna, saying she was awesome on the radio tonight, Donna's hooked. Fez gets on stage and starts to sing but is tackled by a group of football players. At the library, Brooke's pleasantly surprised to see Kelso. He'd rather have a boring Christmas Eve with her than a fun one somewhere else. If Kelso's trying to win her over by being cute and making her laugh, it's probably going to work, says Brooke.
