SYNOPSIS:

Eric and Donna are going to register for their wedding. Donna tells Hyde, Fez and Kelso they’ll have to buy whatever wedding present she and Eric tell them to. No more talk about weddings, says Hyde. Jackie’s on her way over. At the department store, Eric picks the first silver pattern they look at. He’s already ready to hit the food court. They wedding book says they have to look at all the patterns, Donna tells him. Today’s just a scouting trip. Eric needs to get with the program. Eric couldn’t be more miserable. This just isn’t his thing. Later, Eric tells Red he just spent six hours registering for wedding gifts. Always pick the ugliest, worst choice and then you’re off the hook, advises Red. Don’t budge, says Red, until you hear the magic words, “I’ll just do it myself.” Later, Kitty is reading a romance novel at the kitchen table when Red comes in. Reading another dirty girl book, he asks. Not dirty, says Kitty, romantic. In the basement, Eric and Donna are going through a giant stack of catalogs, and Hyde’s watching TV. Jackie comes in and zeros in on the wedding gift catalogs. Hyde grabs Jackie, throws her over his shoulder, carries her to the door and drops her outside. He then shuts the door and locks it. He heads for his room. Eric shows Donna a fork with a real deer hoof for a handle. That’s his choice. Donna has a great idea. She’ll go to the store and then show Eric what she picks out. Red’s reading Kitty’s romance novel when Fez comes in and catches him. Red threatens his life if he tells anyone. Donna’s in the basement, still looking at catalogs, when Kelso comes in. Donna show him the fork with Bambi’s foot for the handle. Kelso says she fell for a classic ploy. Eric picked the ugliest thing, so Donna would make him go shopping. To teach him a lesson, Donna tells Eric that she’ll be too busy at work to register for gifts. Eric will have to go, and Jackie will go with him! At the department store, Jackie takes charge. She’ll make the choices, while Eric’s job is to hold her purse and eat candy. Red and Kitty are in the kitchen, and he has a fantasy right out of her romance novel. He then reminds Kitty that Eric’s gone and they have the whole upstairs to themselves. They run out. Donna gets a call from Eric. He’s having fun shopping. This isn’t going as planned. When Hyde finds out that Jackie’s with Eric, he goes crazy. He doesn’t need Jackie getting more ideas about weddings. Jackie and Eric are in the bridal shop. Jackie’s in a wedding dress, and Eric’sin a tux. Donna and Hyde walk in, and Donna can’t believe her eyes. This was supposed to be her and Eric’s time. She runs out into the mall and Eric runs after her leaving Jackie and Hyde alone. You’re beautiful, says Hyde. Jackie takes this to mean that they’ll be getting married at some point. She ecstatic, because now she can talk about it. Out in the mall, Donna demands to know how Eric could have more fun with Jackie than with her. Jackie didn’t ask him questions, says Eric. She just told him what to do. Donna admits that she doesn’t know what to do herself. Maybe they should just ask Jackie.
