Episode #623 "Sparks"

Eric comes into Donna's room, and she quickly covers his eyes. She doesn't want him to see her wedding dress that's on the bed. It's bad luck. Eric thinks Donna's celibacy vow might be bad luck too, but when he shows her the ring he bought her, she's so touched by the inscription that she breaks her vow happily. Red and Bob come back from an auction with a canoe that red bought after having a few beers. He used the money Kitty had given him for Eric's wedding present. He offers the canoe to Eric who doesn't want it. Kitty tells Red that since he blew the money, it's up to him to come with a nice, sentimental gift that doesn't cost anything. Jackie's in Donna's bedroom when Eric comes in to pick up the coat he left there earlier. He opens the closet door and accidentally sees Donna's dress. He turns around, pulls the dress off its hanger and tears it. The canoe is in the Forman driveway. Hyde tells Fez and Kelso that Kitty told him to get it out of her sight. The guys take it to Mount Hump where Kelso is going to ride it down the hill. Kelso gets in, but the canoe won't budge. He gets out just as the canoe takes off down the hill and crashes. That afternoon, Donna discovers that her dress is torn. Jackie suggests that maybe Eric had something to do with it. Donna responds that Jackie always blames Eric for everything. Later, in the Forman kitchen, Eric brings the torn dress to show Kitty who thinks it will be no problem to mend it. But Eric puts the dress down on Red's and shoe polish that he left on the table. Now there's black polish all over the front of the dress. Donna comes in looking for her dress which Eric has quickly shoved into the refrigerator. He takes the dress out when Donna leaves and sees that it now has a big red spaghetti sauce stain. Back at Mount Hump, Kelso tries to jump into the canoe while it's in motion, overshoots the canoe and tumbles down the hill. At the Formans, Kitty asks Eric where the dress is. She told him to put it in the washer for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, Eric went a step further and put it in the dryer. The dress is now gray and shrunken. At Eric's urging, Fez confesses to Donna that he took the wedding dress. When Donna threatens to kick Fez's ass, Eric confesses that he destroyed the dress. Donna tells Jackie that she loved that dress. Something off the rack just won't be the same. Red has suggested a few gift options to Kitty: his old baseball glove, one of his war medals, his uniform from the war, his boots and canteen from the war. Kitty nixes all of them. Donna tells Eric that they shouldn't have broken the no sex rule. It's as if they've cursed themselves as the ruined dress clearly points out. Bob comes in with a big box that he presents to Donna. It's her mother's wedding dress. He swallowed his pride and called Midge to see if it was okay to give it to Donna.
