701 Red bans
Eric from eating in the house because Eric doesn't have a plan for
what he's doing with his life. Eric talks with Donna to set things
straight after not showing up for the wedding, to figure out where
they stand with each other, and to come up with a plan. They decide
to just hang out, get back in touch with themselves. Donna says
she has a plan, working at the radio station and being a feminist;
also, Donna's dyed her hair blonde, which thrills Eric. And Fez.
Eric announces to the guys that he and Donna have decided not to
talk about their relationship anymore, that they're not using labels,
they're just hanging out. Fez points out that Eric has no plans
or responsibilities, it's a great way to live; Eric realizes he's
right and decides on his plan: to take the year off. But since he'll
need money, he decides to finance his year off by selling Donna's
engagement ring. She's surprisingly fine with the idea, but reveals
that when she was mad at Eric for blowing off the wedding, she threw
it off the water tower and it's gone. The gang goes to the water
tower to search for it with Kelso leading the detective work, but
no luck. They make fun of Eric for buying Donna such a tiny engagement
ring, and Eric falls off the water tower. He lands on the engagement
ring and, empowered, tells Red his plan to quit his job, hang out
with Donna, and do nothing about his future. Bob still hasn't decided
whether to stay with Pam or Midge, and the two women are fighting
over him. While Red likes Pam better, Kitty tells Red she wants
Bob to pick Midge. Red finds Bob hiding from the women and talks
to him. Bob's really torn, he loves Pam, but Midge is Donna's mother.
Bob asks Donna to choose for him, but Pam makes it easy. She says
she's leaving, giving Bob and Midge a chance. She also asks Jackie
to move back home with her, which Jackie is thrilled to do.
